This role is a commercial and business facing fund accounting position at a boutique private equity fund. It targets someone recently qualified with relevant funds knowledge from audit, fund admin or industry. As Fund Controller, you’ll play a pivotal part in managing the financial integrity of multiple international investment vehicles. You’ll work closely with the Finance Director and the investment team, taking ownership of financial reporting, valuations, fund management, and investor relations in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee quarterly NAVs, financial statements, and investor reports (all granular fund accounting is outsourced).
- Partner with the Finance Director on portfolio company valuations.
- Manage SPV reporting across various jurisdictions.
- Prepare and review capital calls, investor notices and co-investor reports.
- Coordinate fund administration with third-party providers, auditors and advisors.
- Lead financial reporting for the UK regulated entity, including audits and FCA submissions.
- Supervise and develop the Accounts Assistant.
- Support acquisitions and disposals, managing fund flows and investor communications.
- Ensure compliance with LPAs, co-investment agreements and investment documentation.
- Maintain deal cost registers, investment custody and serve as point of contact for the deal team.
- Oversee portfolio monitoring and reporting for the investment committee and LPs.
- Manage fund liquidity, cashflow forecasting and capital call execution.
- Prepare and review fund metrics and investor data on a quarterly and ad hoc basis.
- Conduct fund performance analysis, benchmarking, and forward-looking modelling to support investor engagement.
Your background
- A recently qualified accountant (ACA/CA or equivalent), with a background spent in audit, fund admin or in-house within a fund; exposure to funds is essential either through practical experience in a fund accounting based role or via your client base in audit.
- Familiarity with private equity style fund structures and accounting concepts.
- Detail-driven, analytical and commercially astute.
- A proactive communicator and collaborative team player who thrives in an ambitious, high-performance culture.
- Technically strong, with advanced Excel skills.
