A highly commercial middle office / front office support role aimed at someone coming from a Transaction Services or Transaction Tax background in a large global accounting or consulting firm, with around 5 to 6+ years experience or equivalent. The fund is a multi-strategy alternative asset manager across private equity, infrastructure and real estate, with a solid long term presence in the UK/Europe and phenomenal track record of success. This is a newly created position in the firm and the successful candidate will have an opportunity to make an impact in a high profile and business critical role, supporting the investment teams through transaction planning and execution. This role is a critical link between the Fund Finance function and the investment teams, suited to someone looking for a commercial middle office role.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting and working closely with the investment teams across acquisitions, refinancings and disposals, ensuring that all finance, tax and operational matters are identified and addressed through the transaction process.
- Regular engagement with investment teams to ensure live transactions are tracked and prioritised appropriately.
- Manage third party service providers involved in corporate incorporations, bank account facilities, board compositions, assisting the creation of transaction structures consistent with specialist advice.
- Review of fund flows, capitalisation tables and other features of transaction financing to ensure appropriateness and timely execution of transaction fundings.
- Provision of ad-hoc analysis of fund and transaction operations to support decision making.
- Provide regular status reports to senior stakeholders.
- Ad hoc commercial and strategic projects as required.
Qualifications and experience
- A background spent in transaction services, transaction tax or advisory - likely operating at Manager level looking for a first move in-house.
- You must be able to display a detailed understanding of the deal process and strong familiarity with all components including tax, structuring, legal and financing documentation, management incentive programmes and joint venture promote arrangements.
- Previous experience of transaction services in a private fund environment is essential.
- Operational understanding of closed ended fund and holding entity structures.
- International experience would be very helpful, in particular Luxembourg and/or experience working on cross border transactions.
- Strong excel skills and FP&A experience highly advantageous.
Salary on offer is c.£80-90,000 base plus exceptional bonus potential. Hybrid working offered (1 day a week remote). Sponsorship on offer provided you’re in the UK with relevant local experience.
