Specialist Finance recruitment for Asset Management and Alternatives
A high growth mid market Private Equity fund is looking to add a Management Accountant to their high performing and sociable team, suited to someone working in an alternative asset manager or with relevant fund audit experience from a Big 4/Top 10 firm.
As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing a wide range of corporate accounting activities across a high energy, busy and growing fund. You will be instrumental in managing monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, payment runs, and budget/forecasting, as well as supporting tax and regulatory reporting requirements. This role will provide exposure to a variety of financial functions and offers significant opportunities for career growth in a manager that has consistently grown AUM since inception.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts from a reviewing perspective
- Manage the weekly bank recs process and monitor cashflow as well as forecasting
- Perform first-level review of weekly payment runs
- Support budget vs actuals reporting and provide timely financial information to business heads
- Supervise the PQ members of the team, coaching and mentoring
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and long term financial plans
- Assist with regulatory and tax reporting
- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and support the audit process
- Provide ad-hoc support to the FC and FD; significant involvement in projects
Your background:
- Fully qualified (ACA/CA preferred) and degree educated or equivalent; likely a few years PQE or thereabouts
- Either coming from an alternatives manager and looking for a step up (ie: PE, VC, property, infra, credit, hedge funds) or looking for a first move out of Audit at Manager level with a client base that\βs included funds management companies
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple workflows simultaneously
- Adaptable and hands-on attitude; excellent project management skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with people across front office as well as external advisors
