Main duties of the job

As an Activities Co-Ordinator, your primary responsibilities will include:- Developing and implementing a comprehensive activities program that encompasses physical, cognitive, social, and therapeutic elements- Engaging residents in various activities such as arts and crafts, music, games, and outings to stimulate their interests and enhance their overall wellbeing- Collaborating with the wider care team to identify individual resident needs and preferences, and tailoring activities accordingly- Ensuring all activities adhere to health and safety guidelines and maintain a safe and inclusive environment- Documenting resident participation and progress, and providing regular feedback to the management team- Fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes dignity, respect, and a sense of community among residents

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate for the Activities Co-Ordinator role will have:
• – Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a care setting
• – Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, families, and the wider care team
• – Creativity and a passion for developing and facilitating a diverse range of activities
• – A genuine interest in promoting the physical, cognitive, and social wellbeing of older adults
• – Good organizational and time management skills
• – A caring, empathetic, and patient-centered approach
• – Willingness to work alternate weekends
