This is a role for a highly skilled Sous Chef to create fresh, nutritious meals for the residents of Gildawood Court, a 60‐bed Residential, Dementia and Palliative Care Home in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The role involves supporting the Head Chef, leading by example, and showcasing high‐level hospitality with creative flair. The successful candidate will have experience with the IDDSI framework and a passion for using the best fresh ingredients to prepare delicious and healthy meals.
Main Duties of the Job
- Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and service of meals for residents.
- Plan menus, prepare food and ensure all dishes meet IDDSI framework requirements.
- Work well under pressure, maintaining high‐quality standards.
- Lead by example, showcase high‐level hospitality, and inspire kitchen staff.
- Support induction and mentor team members within the Chef academy.
- Operate during straight shifts (no evenings) from 7 am to 6 pm, with alternate weekend requirements.
Person Specification – Essential
- Significant experience as a Sous Chef with a background in healthcare or senior living catering.
- Relevant culinary qualification such as NVQ or City & Guilds (preferred).
- Experience with the IDDSI framework and a passion for fresh, high‐quality ingredients.
- Strong commitment to providing high‐quality care through nutritious meals.
