Description of duties
Overall purpose: Lead the marketing and learning materials function, driving business growth through high-impact campaigns, increased course/examination bookings, and stronger client engagement. Ensure all learner-facing materials meet quality and brand standards, while supporting key client relationships and new business opportunities.
Key performance areas
- Marketing & Demand Generation (Primary Focus)
- Develop and deliver the annual marketing plan across training, examination, and consultancy services
- Execute multi-channel campaigns (digital, email, social, events) to generate leads and bookings
- Monitor performance, optimise campaigns, and report on ROI, improving conversion from enquiry to booking
- Manage website content, course listings, and digital presence (including LinkedIn)
- Produce case studies, client testimonials and clear, sector-relevant messaging
- Oversee the planning, organisation and attendance at key industry events
- Lead and mentor the Marketing Executive and Learning Materials team, ensuring clear objectives, high performance, and professional growth
- Oversee the production and brand-alignment of all learning materials (course notes, workbooks, presentations) and LMS activities
- Manage the marketing and learning materials budget, allocating spend effectively, tracking return on investment
- Maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients
- Encourage repeat business and ongoing engagement
- Gather feedback to improve services and customer experience
- Support outreach to prospective corporate clients
- Assist in preparing proposals for group and bespoke training
- Contribute to identifying new business opportunities
- Act as a brand guardian, developing brand guidelines and ensuring consistency across all communications
- Strengthen the company’s position as a trusted training, examination and consultancy provider across key sectors
- Support relationships with industry bodies and partners
- Work closely with operations teams to align supply with demand
- Coordinate marketing activities with training schedules
- Support use of CRM systems for tracking enquiries and bookings
Key attributes / Person specification
Essential
- Marketing degree or professional qualification (e.g. CIM)
- 4-8 years’ experience in a marketing role
- Previous experience delivering marketing plans and lead generation campaigns
- Strong copywriting, editing, and content creation skills for digital and print channels
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using digital marketing tools including Google Ads, Google Analytics, LinkedIn Ads
- Experience using Content Management Systems (e.g. Wordpress), email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp), and social media scheduling tools (e.g. Loomly)
- Experience of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
- Experience of brand application across multiple channels
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proactive and collaborative, with the ability to work both independently and across the business
- Flexible and adaptable, able to work effectively in a small business environment without close supervision
- Innovative and creative, with a relentless focus on improving customer experience to meet and exceed customer expectations
- Highly competent in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Keeps up to date in marketing best practice and industry trends
Desirable
- Experience marketing technical or engineering services
- Experience supporting events, exhibitions, or trade shows
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle)
- Commercial awareness and a hands-on, outcome-driven approach

- Willingness to travel occasionally, both national and international where required
- Must hold a full clean UK driving licence
