School Technician - ARB18673

Operating within Islay High School, Isle of Islay you will work within the Technical department. Your duties will include care and maintenance of hand tools, preparation of wood, metal and plastic for classes, receiving, checking, storing and documentation of equipment and materials, making teaching aids and assisting teaching staff, maintenance of machinery including cyclical maintenance on portable and fixed machinery, and providing technical support to other departments within the school as requested by Line Manager.

You must possess relevant experience of working in a relevant environment with machinery and hand tools. Good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work with others as part of a team or on your own initiative and work closely and responsibly with children. Possession of relevant qualifications in other areas i.e. Computing, Electronics, Electrical is desirable.
