As Project Officer, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, management, review, and reporting of a project to implement the Council\’s preferred HR and Payroll software solution. You will project manage a range of work streams related to the project and contribute to the wider programme of HR and OD activities.

  • Experience working in a project environment
  • Experience in managing others
  • Experience in developing and managing complex databases and systems

  • Knowledge of implementing new software and systems

Ensure high-quality service delivery and value by implementing plans efficiently and effectively. Specifically:

  1. Project manage designated workstreams and activities effectively
  2. Support HR and OD objectives and lead the project to implement the preferred HR and Payroll software
  3. Monitor project budgets effectively
  4. Produce project documentation such as PID, project plan, highlight reports, exception reports, and work packages timely
  5. Use project governance arrangements to ensure timely delivery
  6. Line manage project team members as required
  7. Develop business cases for proposed projects as needed
  8. Identify and promote partnership opportunities internally and externally
  9. Lead or support change initiatives to improve customer satisfaction, service quality, and efficiency
  10. Develop policies, procedures, and guidance related to the project
  11. Provide research and information to meet project needs

  14. Liaise with colleagues and external bodies to share information and improve practices
