The Rural Growth Deal Programme Management Office is seeking an Admin Officer to cover Maternity Leave until December 2027. Argyll and Bute is one of Scotland's most stunning areas. About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team within Argyll and Bute Council as an Admin Officer. The role sits within the Transformational Projects and Regeneration Team, within the Development and Economic Growth Service. You will be required to provide administrative and financial support to professional and technical staff to support the delivery of the Rural Growth Deal (RGD) Programme on time and to budget, and to support other Economic Development projects as required. This role involves working with both internal teams and key external partners, including UK and Scottish Government.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Administration of meetings, including co-ordinating diaries, arranging meetings, issuing papers and taking accurate minutes.
  • Processing purchase orders and invoices and running reports to monitor expenditure.
  • Supporting grant claim processes, including preparing and processing financial claims in line with funder requirements.
  • Collating budget reports, supporting budget preparation and profiling.
  • Liaising with project leads, funders, partners, community groups and other public and private sector stakeholders.
  • Collating and submitting responses to Freedom of Information requests as required by the Rural Growth Deal PMO and wider Development and Economic Growth Service.

About you

The successful candidate must have well developed IT skills, experience of working in an administration environment and have a flexible approach to working as an individual and part of a team. You should also have experience with financial monitoring and an understanding of claim processes for grant funding. You should also be self-motivated and committed to ensuring work is completed to a high degree of accuracy.

Interviews are expected to take place on Tuesday 29th September 2026 at Kilmory Castle, Lochgilphead. Shortlisted candidates will be offered an interview slot which they will be able to book.
