Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst

What we’re looking for
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented FP&A Analyst to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across the business. They will be a part-qualified accountant with experience in the production of reports and information for senior management and business and possess strong analytical and communication skills.
The FP&A Analyst will play a key role in providing insights to help drive financial decision-making and support the overall growth of the company.
What will you be doing
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Work alongside the team on the delivery of the financial planning cycles; strategic plan, annual budget and ongoing forecasting.
- Collaborate with department heads to gather financial data and assumptions for forecasting.
- Monitor performance against budget and forecast, identifying variances and providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual management account reports.
- Provide variance analysis and commentary to explain the financial results to senior management.
- Support ad hoc financial analysis as needed to evaluate business performance and profitability.
Business Partnering
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (both Revenue and Cost centres) to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
- Assist in cost management and financial efficiency initiatives.
- Provide insights into key business drivers and suggest improvements for achieving financial targets.
Reporting
- Support the FP&A team with the production of daily, weekly and monthly reporting including providing the business with financial information.
- Manage and update dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial data to ensure consistency and quality of reports.
- Other regular and ad hoc reporting as required to support the FP&A and reporting requirements.
Process Improvement
- Assist in the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems as part of the FP&A team.
- Identify opportunities for automation or enhancement of financial workflows and work alongside the various departments to deliver those.
Skills and Experience
- Part-qualified accountant with a background in Business, Economics, Accounting/Finance or related discipline.
- 2 years plus experience in financial planning, analysis or accounting.
- Strong and effective analytical skills and good business acumen.
- Ability to present findings in an insightful and informative manner.
- Good communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with all levels of the organisation.
- A pro-active nature and ‘can-do’ work ethic in seeking out and resolving issues; and identifying opportunities to deliver improved processes and effectiveness within the team.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, PowerBI and PowerPoint.
- Experience in a Subscription business and knowledge of metrics like ACV/AAV, Churn, Uplift an advantage.
