About The Role
As Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day procurement and supply chain activities, ensuring material availability, cost control, and supplier performance. Youll work closely with internal teams and suppliers to maintain operational efficiency while driving continuous improvement across procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities to ensure timely and cost-effective supply of materials.
- Support the wider procurement team with daily operations and process improvements.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including regular site and offsite meetings.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and assist with sourcing decisions based on spend and market analysis.
- Provide data-driven insights for supplier performance reviews.
- Work collaboratively with production, technical, and operational teams to align procurement with business needs.
- Support compliance processes including supplier due diligence and onboarding.
- Understand product specifications and relevant commodity markets.
- Contribute to sustainability and ESG initiatives within the supply chain.
About you:
- Strong experience in procurement, ideally within manufacturing, working with a global suppliers.
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices and commercial negotiation.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); SAP and Power BI experience preferred.
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) is advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.
