Argus produces commercial conferences for the energy and commodities markets, specialising in agriculture, chemicals, crude oil, energy transition, fertilizers, generation fuels, LPG, metals, and oil products. We have dedicated conference teams in Houston, London, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, and Singapore, running a global portfolio of 40+ events.

We are currently looking for a driven, commercially astute Senior Conference Producer on a 14m FTC to join a dynamic global production team within our industry-leading portfolio. Your portfolio will consist of 4-5 events within the Biofuels, Marine Fuels, and Metals sectors. Responsibilities will include onsite delivery, picking up certain projects partway through the production cycle, and leading some events from inception to completion.

You will be responsible for delivering commercially successful, well-attended, and critically respected conferences. Your primary responsibility is to write compelling conference programmes, identify and secure a stellar speaker line-up of influential industry leaders, while managing the project from inception to completion. International travel will be needed as the conference producer will attend all events they deliver and may also travel for client meetings.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior producer who is looking to work on industry-leading, global conferences and be part of an experienced conference team within a very well-respected brand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Using desk, telephone, and face-to-face client research, write topical and compelling conference programmes reflecting the needs most pertinent to the sector.
  • Identify the leading names in each sector and secure these bellwethers as speakers on every programme.
  • Define the commercial proposition of each event.
  • Build and understand a market map for each conference with insight into the value and strength of each buy-sell relationship.
  • Develop a clear and concise growth strategy for each event and communicate this to the project team.
  • Drive continued innovation in content, networking, and delegate experience.
  • Work effectively with peers in sponsorship sales, delegate marketing, conference operations, delegate sales, and customer service to ensure full and effective delivery of each project.
  • Communicate professionally with Argus editorial, business development, consulting, and subscription sales to ensure we benefit from synergies with the rest of the Argus business.
  • Complete projects to deadline and on budget.
  • Understand how market developments will impact the sectors in which you operate, and propose new/launch conferences when opportunities arise.
  • Network with clients at Argus events and in the market generally.
  • Develop a passion for the markets in which you operate.
  • Deliver all the above on five or six conference projects annually.
Skills And Experience
  • 3+ years experience of producing commercial B2B conferences.
  • Intelligent – educated to degree level (or equivalent).
  • Commercial – understand what each market development means for our clients and Argus.
