Consulting Services works with a diverse client base that includes governments, national oil and energy companies, multinational corporations, financial institutions, energy traders, and upstream and independent organisations across the energy value chain. The team operates across two core business areas: Projects and Subscriptions. The Projects team delivers bespoke, commissioned assignments tailored to client needs, while the Subscriptions team produces short‑term outlooks, long‑term analytical reports, and market forecasts.

What will you be doing? Due to the continued growth of Argus, we are currently looking for passionate, driven and energetic analysts to join the business. The ideal candidate will be an excellent analyst and will thrive in a fast‑paced environment. They will also be process oriented and have a keen eye for detail. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a career in consulting. You will get exposure to all areas of Consulting, and work with a great team. You will provide clients with the in‑depth analysis, insight and perspective they require, contributing to our services including projects, outlooks and analytics. You will play a key role in building the business through development of propositions, products and services.

Our team numbers about 80 in London, is made up of mix of industry experts and recent graduates from diverse and international backgrounds. Individuals that have a ‘can‑do’ attitude and are prepared to play a role in all aspects of building the business will thrive. As a new graduate you will be joining a structured rotation program within consulting. Rotations will be assigned based on strengths, interests and team requirements and will be across both Analytics and Projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain models to support the forecasting of supply, demand, capacity, imports and exports, price, production costs and margin for one or more commodities.
  • Provide detailed analysis and commentary on commodity markets, for Consulting projects and subscription reports.
  • Lead components of delivery, under guidance from managers, providing input to the client projects and subscription analysis reports produced by Argus Consulting Services.
  • Liaise with wider Argus staff to ensure current knowledge of Argus products and maintain current knowledge of major drivers and trends across commodity markets.
  • Work with experts and analysts across our global offices to extract maximum value out of data collected and to deliver integrated analysis.
  • Identify new sources of data to capture within the Argus fundamentals databases.
  • Support the development and commercialisation of new data‑driven products.
  • Identify new areas of commodity market analysis.
  • Play a role in development of the consulting practice.
What we’re looking for in you?
  • Graduate / Master’s degree from a top tier university.
  • Highly numerate with experience analysing data quickly and meticulously with excellent attention to detail and accuracy focus.
  • Intellectually curious and able to demonstrate structured problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong IT skills including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks to deadline and to meet targets.
  • Flexible in approach, highly motivated and willing to contribute to the growth of Argus’ Consulting Services.
  • Interest in (though not necessarily with professional experience) the energy and commodities markets.

The training and support provided throughout the probation period requires full office attendance. Following successful completion of probation, hybrid working is available in accordance with the company policy, which currently requires 3 days per week attendance.
