We are one of the world’s largest companies providing news, analysis and price information to commodities and energy markets. We report first‑hand on what’s happening globally in the energy space – from hydrogen to coal, crude oil to green ammonia, carbon markets to wind farms. And we do the same for economically vital markets in metals, agriculture, fertilisers and chemicals. We employ almost 600 journalists worldwide and have 30 offices in Europe, Russia, the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, China, Japan, Singapore and North and South America.
We are currently looking for a deputy editor to join our global editorial team covering steel, raw materials and scrap markets in London. This is a great opportunity for an experienced steel or other ferrous markets journalist, combining a deep understanding of the industry and the organisational precision required to help manage a fast‑paced team. The right candidate will be looking to step up to the challenge of maintaining our high‑growth report. You will have a solid grounding in steel and/or other ferrous markets but be adaptable to different approaches and eager to learn new ways of analysing a rapidly evolving sector. You will have demonstrable expertise in both data‑driven analysis and traditional relationship‑based reporting and be keen to share your knowledge with less‑experienced reporters and to help them develop their own skills. Your role will include writing and editing news as well as engaging with market participants and assessing prices. The environment is fast paced but values careful thought. You will enjoy collaborative work with colleagues from a range of backgrounds, many located in Argus’ other offices around the globe. There are opportunities to travel and attend industry events, and to develop networks/specific market knowledge, as well as to present at industry conferences and lead webinar sessions. The role would be ideally suited to an experienced, enthusiastic and very well‑organised reporter keen to take the next step in their career. If this is for you, we’d love to hear from you.
