Argus has dedicated conference teams in Houston, London, Moscow, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, and Singapore, running a global portfolio of 40+ events.

We are currently looking for a driven, commercially astute Conference Producer to join a dynamic global production team within our industry-leading international portfolio. The portfolio consists of 40+ conferences held in locations across the world from Asia to the Americas, ranging in size from 150-900 attendees. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering commercially successful, well-attended, and critically respected conferences.

Your primary responsibility is to write compelling conference programmes, identify and secure a stellar speaker line-up of influential industry leaders, while managing the project from inception to completion. International travel will be needed as the conference producer will attend all events they deliver and may also travel for client meetings.

This is an exciting opportunity for a producer who is looking to work on industry-leading, global conferences and be part of an experienced conference team within a very well-respected brand.

What will you be doing:

  • Using desk, telephone, and face-to-face client research to write topical and compelling conference programmes reflecting the needs most pertinent to the sector.
  • Identifying the leading names in each sector and securing these bellwethers as speakers on every programme.
  • Defining the commercial proposition of each event and building a market map for each conference with insight into the value and strength of each buy-sell relationship.
  • Developing a clear and concise growth strategy for each event and communicating this to the project team.
  • Driving continued innovation in content, networking, and delegate experience.
  • Working effectively with peers in sponsorship sales, delegate marketing, conference operations, delegate sales, and customer service to ensure full and effective delivery of each project.
  • Communicating professionally with Argus editorial, business development, consulting, and subscription sales to ensure we benefit from synergies with the rest of the Argus business.
  • Completing projects to deadline and on budget.
  • Understanding how market developments will impact the sectors in which you operate and proposing new/launch conferences when opportunities arise.
  • Networking with clients at Argus events and in the market generally.
  • Developing a passion for the markets in which you operate.
  • Delivering all the above on five or six conference projects annually.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of producing commercial B2B conferences.
  • Intelligent – educated to degree level (or equivalent).
  • Commercial – understanding what each market development means for our clients and Argus.
  • Innovative – thinking outside the box and looking for approaches to overcoming challenges.
  • Driven – ambitious and a self-starter motivated to exceed targets.
  • Networkable – ability to develop strong professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Client focused – empathy and strong client relationship skills.
  • Confident – sure of oneself without displaying arrogance, demonstrating they listen and act on feedback.
  • Deadline focused – ability to multi-task and deliver projects on time while under pressure.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with colleagues and clients at all levels of seniority.
  • Believes in the Argus values of Passion, Integrity, Excellence, and Results.
