The Opportunity
We're working with a well-established organisation seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join its legal team on an initial six-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to support a busy commercial legal function, advising on a wide range of complex contractual and compliance matters across multiple business areas.
This role would suit a commercially focused lawyer who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, managing legal risk and delivering pragmatic, solutions-driven advice in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts and terms and conditions.
- Support stakeholders throughout the full commercial lifecycle, from bid and tender stage through to contract execution.
- Provide commercially focused legal advice on contractual and business matters.
- Identify legal and commercial risks, recommending practical mitigation strategies.
- Support the wider compliance programme, including advising on compliance-related matters.
- Deliver legal and compliance training to internal stakeholders where required.
- Manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality legal support to the business.
- Build strong relationships across the organisation, acting as a trusted legal adviser.
About You
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' PQE (or equivalent experience).
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
- Previous in-house legal experience, ideally within sectors such as technology, telecommunications, financial services, public sector or other regulated industries.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to provide practical, business-focused legal advice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a wider team.
