An innovative defence engineering organisation is looking to appoint an Interim Procurement Manager to provide immediate support to its procurement and supply chain function during a period of growth and operational transformation. This is a hands-on role that combines day-to-day procurement delivery with process improvement, making it well suited to an experienced procurement professional who enjoys operating in fast-paced engineering environments.
The Role
- Working closely with the Head of Supply Chain, you'll be responsible for supporting procurement activity across a specialist supply base while helping improve systems, processes and operational performance.
- Managing procurement activity across electronic and mechanical categories.
- Supporting supplier relationships, commercial negotiations and delivery performance.
- Working with engineering and project teams to ensure material availability.
- Driving procurement and supply chain process improvements.
- Supporting the implementation of a new ERP system, including master data preparation, validation and migration.
- Developing procurement processes, reporting and governance.
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, planning capability and supply chain resilience.
About You
We're looking for someone with experience in a senior procurement or supply chain position within a manufacturing, engineering, aerospace or defence environment. You'll ideally have experience of:
- Direct procurement of electronic components, PCBAs, electro-mechanical assemblies or other engineered products.
- Supplier relationship management and commercial negotiations.
- ERP, MRP or procurement systems, including data management or implementation projects.
- Process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working collaboratively with engineering, manufacturing and project teams.
- Managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience within defence or other highly regulated industries would be advantageous.
