About the Role
We are supporting a rapidly growing business operating across the energy and infrastructure sector that is looking for an Interim Procurement Manager to support a key period of growth.
This is a procurement-focused role, with a particular emphasis on services procurement, contracts and commercial management.
The successful candidate will take ownership of procurement activity across a range of operational and maintenance services, managing the process from initial requirements and sourcing through to commercial negotiation, contract award, mobilisation and supplier performance.
The client is particularly keen to find someone who is strong on the contractual and commercial side of procurement, rather than someone who is purely focused on sourcing.
- Lead end-to-end procurement activity across operational and maintenance services.
- Develop sourcing strategies and manage RFI, RFP and RFQ processes.
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers, focusing on cost, risk, performance and contractual terms.
- Develop and negotiate scopes of work, SLAs, KPIs, rate cards, frameworks and service agreements.
- Work closely with Legal on MSAs, call-off contracts, statements of work and other contractual documentation.
- Review and improve existing contractual arrangements and supplier terms.
- Support supplier onboarding and mobilisation.
- Establish appropriate commercial and contractual performance mechanisms.
- Manage supplier performance and resolve contractual or service-related issues.
- Benchmark pricing and supplier offerings to ensure value for money.
- Work closely with operational, engineering, finance and asset management stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate commercial, contractual and supply chain risks.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for an experienced procurement professional who can hit the ground running in an interim environment.
- 5+ years' procurement experience.
- Strong experience within services procurement.
- A proven track record of contract negotiation and commercial management.
- Experience developing and negotiating scopes of work, SLAs, KPIs, rate cards and service agreements.
- Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Experience managing the full procurement lifecycle from requirements through to contract award and supplier performance.
- The ability to work closely with Legal and operational stakeholders on contractual matters.
- Strong commercial acumen and the confidence to challenge suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience within energy, infrastructure, utilities, engineering, facilities, transportation or another asset-intensive environment would be beneficial.
The key thing we're looking for
The ideal interim will be a strong all-round procurement professional with particular strength in contracts, commercial negotiation and supplier management. You do not need to be an EV or battery specialist, but you should be comfortable procuring technical services and working within a complex operational environment.
The role would suit someone who is comfortable coming into a fast-moving business, taking ownership quickly and delivering commercially focused procurement outcomes from day one.
