We are seeking an experienced Interim Procurement Manager to join a leading manufacturing business on an initial 3-month assignment.

This is a highly hands-on procurement role for someone who enjoys being close to the detail and getting things done. Reporting into the Strategic Indirect Procurement Director, you will be responsible for delivering day-to-day procurement activity across Capex, maintenance and repair.

The successful candidate will be self-sufficient, commercially strong and able to hit the ground running, with experience gained within a factory, manufacturing or production environment.

  • Take ownership of day-to-day procurement activity across Capex, maintenance and repair.
  • Manage live sourcing projects from requirement through to supplier selection, negotiation and contract award.
  • Work closely with factory, operations and maintenance stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver procurement solutions.
  • Run RFQs, tenders and competitive sourcing exercises.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms and commercial agreements with suppliers.
  • Manage existing supplier relationships and resolve commercial or performance issues.
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities across relevant categories.
  • Support the delivery of procurement projects and capital investment requirements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and provide updates on activity, savings and progress.
  • Work closely with the Strategic Indirect Procurement Director to deliver the wider procurement agenda.
  • Take ownership of tasks and projects with minimal supervision.

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional who is comfortable doing the doing and can make an immediate impact.

  • Strong experience across Capex procurement.
  • Proven category management and strategic sourcing experience.
  • Experience working within a factory, manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience across maintenance and repair procurement.
  • Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management skills.
  • Experience managing the full procurement process from requirement through to contract award.
  • The confidence to work directly with operational and senior stakeholders.
  • A highly autonomous, practical and delivery-focused approach.
  • Pharmaceutical experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Previous interim experience would be beneficial.

This role would suit an experienced Procurement Manager / Senior Procurement Manager who is used to operating in a hands-on environment and doesn't need a large team or extensive support around them.

You will be someone who can walk into an unfamiliar environment, understand what needs to be bought, engage the stakeholders, go to market, negotiate with suppliers and get the job done.

Please note: This role requires the successful candidate to be on-site five days per week and is inside IR35.
