A leading provider of critical infrastructure services is seeking a Procurement Director to lead procurement strategy across its UK operations. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving value, enhancing supplier performance, and optimising supply chain capability within a complex, fast-paced environment. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the right balance of cost, quality, and risk, while supporting long-term growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Business Partnership
- Lead and deliver the divisional procurement strategy in line with wider business objectives.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to influence decision-making and embed best-practice procurement.
- Support re-tenders, contract reviews, and strategic initiatives to improve performance and delivery.
- Oversee supply chain mobilisation for new contracts, working collaboratively with internal teams and clients.
- Supply Chain Optimisation
- Manage and develop both existing and new supplier networks.
- Drive adoption of preferred supplier frameworks through spend analysis and supplier rationalisation.
- Identify and deliver cost efficiencies and service improvements across the supply base.
- Supplier Selection & Management
- Lead supplier sourcing, selection, and commercial negotiations.
- Ensure suppliers meet required safety, sustainability, and compliance standards.
- Establish robust contractual agreements that deliver value and high-quality service delivery.
- Implement supplier performance management, including regular reviews, audits, and benchmarking.
- Category & Procurement Development
- Develop and execute category strategies across key areas and regions.
- Optimise supplier portfolios, leveraging high-performing partners and reducing duplication.
- Collaborate with central and regional procurement teams to share best practice and expertise.
- Champion procurement tools, systems, and consistent ways of working.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Capability Building
- Support and upskill internal stakeholders on procurement processes and best practice.
- Promote a collaborative, commercially focused procurement culture.
- Work closely with key functions including Commercial, Finance, and QHSE.
- Ensure clear communication and alignment of procurement strategy across the division.
Requirements
- CIPS qualified (or working towards) or equivalent experience.
- Experience across IT, outsourcing, data centres.
- Strong experience operating in a complex, multi-site or matrix organisation.
- Proven track record of delivering cost savings and driving commercial value.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at a senior level.
- Analytical and data-driven, with a balanced and pragmatic approach to decision-making.
- Collaborative in style, with the ability to build long-term, high-value relationships.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, UK-wide environment with a diverse supply base.
