We are urgently seeking an experienced Interim Commercial / Contracts Manager to support a construction-focused legal and commercial team through a short-term resourcing gap. A senior team member is unexpectedly out of office, creating an immediate need for hands-on support to manage a high volume of contract review and negotiation work. This is a fast-moving interim assignment requiring someone who can start immediately and operate with minimal onboarding.
Strong experience in construction contracts, tier-one contractor appointments, and commercial/Quantity Surveying (QS) environments is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities- Review, mark-up, and negotiate complex construction and contractor appointment documents
- Support ongoing contract management and commercial workload across active projects
- Provide practical, commercially focused input on construction contract risk and terms
- Assist with drafting and negotiation of high-value contractor agreements
- Work closely with legal and commercial teams to maintain delivery continuity
- Act as a pragmatic, solutions-focused support resource during peak workload
- Strong background in Commercial Management, Contracts Management, or Quantity Surveying (QS)
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering, or major contractor environments
- Comfortable reviewing and negotiating heavy-duty construction appointment / NEC-style documentation
- Strong commercial judgement with a pragmatic, hands-on approach
- Able to work independently and hit the ground running immediately
- Legal background or strong contract law awareness advantageous but not essential
- Available immediately or at very short notice
- Interim contract: 1–3 months (preferred month-to-month flexibility)
- Part-time (3 days/week) up to full-time considered
- Remote working
