We are seeking a dynamic professional to provide procurement expertise and support for ship build systems, equipment, parts, raw materials, and consumables. This role is critical in driving cost efficiencies, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring a smooth flow of materials to meet programme requirements.Key Responsibilities:Provide procurement expertise for ship build systems, ensuring timely supply of materials and consumables.Lead cost reduction or cost avoidance initiatives, benchmarking costs to ensure value for money, and reporting cost savings.Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, managing performance, risks, and opportunities.Proactively resolve supply chain issues, escalating complex or high-risk concerns as needed.Regularly review Engineering Bills of Materials (BoMs) to capture and process changes, maintaining optimal stock levels.Lead and delegate workload across the team, supporting less experienced members and identifying development needs.Your Skills and Experience:Proven experience in contract management with a strong financial background in budget management and forecasting.Team management experience with the ability to challenge and support effectively.Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and influencing skills.Extensive procurement experience, ideally MCIPS qualified or working towards MCIPS, or with relevant industry experience.Experience in project management and project control processes.Aware of legal aspects related to purchasing contracts and framework agreements.Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and toolsets, with advanced Excel skills preferred.Seniority level Mid-Senior levelEmployment type Full-timeJob function Supply ChainIndustries Defense and Space Manufacturing
