We are seeking an Interim Commercial Officer to support a busy commercial function within a complex programme environment. This role will focus on supporting high-value and strategically important bids, providing sound commercial advice and ensuring risks are appropriately managed throughout the bid lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded professional who enjoys working collaboratively with delivery teams while contributing to the overall commercial effectiveness of the division.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the commercial aspects of high-value and complex bid activities.
- Provide high-integrity commercial advice to Bid Managers, Project Managers, and internal stakeholders.
- Identify and help mitigate commercial risks during the bid and proposal process.
- Work collaboratively with bid and delivery teams to improve and enhance the commercial effectiveness of the division.
- Ensure commercial processes and governance are applied appropriately across bid activity.
- Engage with customers where required, supporting a professional and commercially sound approach to discussions.
Key Skills & Experience
- Experience working in a commercial, contracts, or bid-support role.
- Strong commercial awareness and risk management capability.
- Experience supporting complex or high-value bids is highly desirable.
- Confident working with customers and internal stakeholders.
- A self-starter who can work autonomously and proactively.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
SC clearance is required (or eligibility to obtain it). Experience within defence, aerospace, or complex engineering environments is desirable.
