As Senior Buyer for Bedding, you'll own the category and range strategy and lead its end‑to‑end execution to deliver profitable growth. You'll translate customer, market and commercial insight into clear roadmaps, guide range architecture and launch plans, and partner with Product Development, Technical and Global Sourcing to balance quality, price and speed to market across both own brand and branded/filled bedding.
Day to day, you'll steer trading performance across sales, margin, stock, availability and digital metrics, shaping pricing and promotional plans and working closely with Merchandising, Digital and Marketing to maximise performance across channels. You'll also lead strategic supplier partnerships, building Joint Business Plans, negotiating commercial terms and securing funding for promotions and marketing activity.
Role Expectations
You're a commercially minded Buyer with experience delivering category strategies in a complex, omni‑channel non‑food environment. You're comfortable working across both store and digital formats, using data and insight to make clear decisions at pace and balancing short and long‑term priorities. As a people leader, you set clear objectives, coach and develop others and create high performance through strong collaboration. You build productive supplier and stakeholder relationships, communicate with impact, and role‑model ethical, legally compliant ways of working.
Qualifications
- Evidence of owning a category and range strategy in non‑food retail and delivering against sales, margin, stock and availability targets (examples required).
- Experience leading range architecture and launch planning across multiple sub‑categories, translating customer/market insight into clear propositions.
- Demonstrated experience managing both own brand/product development ranges and branded supplier ranges, including quality/price trade‑offs and continuous improvement.
- Proven supplier management and commercial negotiation capability, including Joint Business Plans and securing supplier‑funded promotions/marketing activity.
- People leadership experience (leading, coaching and developing Buyers/Assistant Buyers), with clear examples of driving performance through objectives and accountability.
