A well-established food production company in Wrexham is seeking an experienced Site Services Engineer to manage site-wide maintenance activities and ensure full compliance with hygiene, food safety, and operational standards. This is a key position within the engineering function, supporting production by maintaining critical site services and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain all site services and facilities to support production operations
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to site service breakdowns
- Maintain and support utilities and infrastructure including steam, air, water, refrigeration, and waste systems
- Support audits and inspections, ensuring documentation and compliance standards are met
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and efficiency
- Manage contractors and external service providers as required
- Support operational teams to minimise downtime and ensure site performance
Key Requirements
- Strong engineering background (mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled)
- Experience in site services or facilities maintenance, ideally within food or FMCG manufacturing
- Good knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and compliance requirements
- Proven fault-finding and maintenance capability
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Relevant engineering qualifications (apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC, or equivalent)
