Our client, a leading name in the food production sector, is seeking a skilled engineer to drive asset reliability, equipment performance, and engineering excellence at their Wrexham site.
The Role
As a core member of the site engineering team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of production assets through a balance of hands-on maintenance expertise, equipment knowledge, and data-driven analysis. You'll lead reliability initiatives, develop and implement maintenance strategies, and play a key role in shaping the site's continuous improvement culture. Acting as the CMMS superuser, you'll analyse performance data, identify top losses, and implement engineering solutions that improve plant efficiency and reduce downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion asset reliability and equipment performance across all productive assets.
- Lead reliability improvement projects, root cause analysis, and condition-based monitoring.
- Evolve and manage the site's CMMS to provide actionable performance insights.
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensure full plan attainment.
- Support and develop the engineering teams technical competence and reliability mindset.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene standards.
- Identify opportunities for design improvements and cost-efficient engineering solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, KPI tracking, and engineering excellence.
What You'll Bring
- A strong engineering background (ideally time-served apprenticeship or equivalent).
- At least 10 years hands-on multi-skilled maintenance experience within manufacturing or food production.
- Proven experience with CMMS systems, PPM processes, and reliability-led engineering.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Ability to lead and influence across teams, promoting a culture of safety and reliability.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of risk assessments, statutory compliance, and safe working practices.
- Experience with Marel equipment will be highly desirable.
