We are recruiting a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a well-established and highly regarded automated distribution business with multiple sites across the UK. The Role
You will be part of a shift-based engineering team, responsible for maintaining highly automated systems to ensure maximum up time and performance. The role is hands-on, with a strong focus on electrical fault finding, planned maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Electrical fault finding on automated machinery and conveyor systems
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns
- Working with PLC-controlled equipment (fault finding, not programming)
- Supporting mechanical maintenance when required
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with site standards
- Contributing to reliability improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
This role is ideal for an apprentice-trained engineer with experience in fast-paced environments such as Food, FMCG, or Automated Distribution.
You will ideally have:
- A completed apprenticeship
- Electrical maintenance and fault-finding experience
- Background in Food, FMCG, logistics, or automated warehousing environments
- Experience working with automation, conveyors, sensors, drives, and motors
- Basic PLC fault-finding knowledge (Siemens / Allen Bradley / similar)
- A proactive, team-focused approach to engineering
