Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician Location: Middlewich Salary: £45,000 Shift Pattern: 12-hour shifts (Days & Nights)

An established FMCG company is currently seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join their engineering team at a busy distribution facility in Middlewich. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a fast-paced automated environment where reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement are key.

The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of site equipment and automated systems. You will be responsible for carrying out both reactive and preventative maintenance to maximise equipment availability and maintain high operational standards.

  • Maintaining various automated installations and equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Carrying out reactive maintenance and fault finding across mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Performing preventative and planned maintenance tasks in collaboration with the wider engineering team
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical faults efficiently to minimise downtime
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety and quality standards

Requirements

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach to maintenance and a strong commitment to operational reliability.

Essential requirements:
  • City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or above in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Ability and willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts including days and nights
  • Experience working with planned and preventative maintenance systems
  • Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical and electrical equipment
Desirable Experience
  • Experience working within an FMCG manufacturing or highly automated environment
  • Experience supporting or coaching junior engineers or operators
