Fabricator Location: Wednesbury Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 depending on experience Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday, Days Industry: Food Manufacturing An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Fabricator to join a well-established food manufacturing business based in Wednesbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Fabricator who enjoys a varied, hands-on role and has strong experience working with stainless steel fabrication within a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for carrying out fabrication, welding, repairs and modifications across a busy food production site, with a particular focus on stainless steel work. The Role Working as part of the engineering team, you will provide fabrication and welding support across the site, helping to maintain and improve production equipment, machinery and infrastructure. The role will involve a mixture of planned fabrication work, repairs and reactive engineering support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and solving practical engineering problems. Key Responsibilities Carry out stainless steel fabrication and welding across the manufacturing site. Manufacture, modify and repair machinery components, guards, frames and structures. Carry out MIG and TIG welding, particularly on stainless steel. Work with stainless steel, mild steel and other metals. Repair and modify existing production equipment. Support the engineering team with mechanical repairs and maintenance. Fabricate bespoke components and solutions to improve machinery reliability. Assist with installation and modification of production equipment. Work from engineering drawings and specifications. Use workshop machinery and fabrication equipment safely and effectively. Ensure all work is completed to a high standard. Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment. Follow all site health and safety and food hygiene procedures. Support continuous improvement and engineering projects across the site. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will ideally have: Proven experience working as a Fabricator within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Strong experience in stainless steel fabrication. Strong MIG and/or TIG welding experience. Experience working with stainless steel and mild steel. Ability to fabricate, modify and repair components and machinery. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Good mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills. Experience fabricating and repairing machinery, structures or components. Ability to work independently and as part of a wider engineering team. Good attention to detail and a high standard of workmanship. Strong health and safety awareness. A flexible and proactive approach to work. Desirable Experience Previous experience within food manufacturing or FMCG. Experience fabricating food production equipment. Experience working with conveyors, guarding, platforms and production machinery. Mechanical maintenance experience. Welding qualifications.
