The Company
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established and highly successful food manufacturing business based in Wrexham. The company operates a large, modern manufacturing facility and has continued to invest heavily in its production operation, equipment and people. Due to continued growth and development, they are looking to strengthen their engineering team with an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer. You will be joining a large team of experienced engineers and will play an important role in ensuring the reliability, availability and efficiency of the site's production equipment.
The Role
As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of automated manufacturing and production equipment. The successful candidate will ideally be electrically biased and have previous experience working within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults on production equipment.
- Fault finding on PLC-controlled and automated machinery.
- Responding quickly to breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives.
- Working closely with production teams to ensure machinery is operating efficiently.
- Identifying recurring faults and contributing to long-term solutions.
- Completing maintenance records and ensuring all work is carried out to the required standards.
- Working as part of a large engineering team and supporting colleagues when required.
- Ensuring all maintenance activities are carried out in line with company health and safety procedures.
Key Skills & Experience
- Ideally apprentice trained or qualified in Electrical, Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
- Strong electrical bias is preferred.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing, FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
- Good electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability.
- Experience working with automated production machinery.
- Understanding of planned preventative maintenance systems.
- Ability to diagnose faults quickly and effectively.
- Experience with PLC-controlled equipment would be advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively as part of a large engineering team.
- Comfortable working a 4-on-4-off days and nights shift pattern.
