An exciting opportunity has arisen for a time-served Electrical Shift Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing company based in Middleton. This role is ideal for an electrically biased maintenance engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem solving, and working in a fast-paced production environment.
Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving a wide range of manufacturing equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and supporting continuous production.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime.
- Fault find on PLC-controlled machinery and automated production equipment.
- Maintain electrical control systems, drives, motors and associated equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Process maintenance work orders through the site's maintenance management system.
- Work independently while also contributing effectively within the engineering team.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with health and safety procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing site.

- Minimum ONC qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations is essential.

- Safety circuit fault finding and diagnosis.
- Three-phase motor control circuits.
- Relay logic and control systems.
- PLC fault diagnosis.
- AC & DC variable speed drives.
- Sensors including proximity and optical sensors.
- Industrial control systems including Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron and Telemecanique equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
- Computer literate with experience using a CMMS or maintenance management system.
