The Opportunity
My client, a well-established manufacturing business in Chesterfield and part of a large global group, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead site operations and drive performance across production. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to make a real impact within a business that combines the backing of a global organisation with the agility of a local site.
The Role
As Manufacturing Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the manufacturing operation, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and health & safety requirements are consistently achieved. You will lead and develop a team, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all manufacturing operations on site
- Drive performance against KPIs including safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Develop and implement continuous improvement strategies (Lean / Six Sigma)
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards
- Manage, mentor, and develop production teams and supervisors
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and senior leadership teams
- Oversee production planning and resource allocation
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
About You:
- Proven experience in a Manufacturing Manager or senior production leadership role
- Background within a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Commercial awareness and ability to drive operational performance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Results-driven with a proactive and hands-on approach
