Role information – Shift Supervisor

  • Location: Prestwick
  • License/Type Rating: UKCAA and EASA licence (B1 or B2) at least 1 type 737/787/320/330
  • Shift Pattern & Working Hours: 5/5/4 – 07:00 – 19:00 – 12 hour shifts
  • Salary: £78,280 - £88,780

Summary of Duties – Shift Supervisor

  • Reporting to the Shift Manager, the Base Shift Supervisor will lead the shift, carry certification on the zones/Area of the aircraft assigned to the Shift.
  • Task Management and Supervision: Efficiently control, supervise, and allocate work tasks during the shift to ensure optimal productivity and adherence to timelines.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Report significant defects encountered during maintenance promptly and compile Occurrence Reports in a timely manner.
  • Staff Allocation and Base Maintenance: Allocate tasks to staff to maintain the Base in a clean and acceptable state throughout the duty period.
  • Authorisation and Compliance: Exercise the privileges of authorisation correctly and responsibly, adhering to all regulatory and company standards.
  • Procedural Knowledge and Updates: Stay current with Base procedures and all operator procedures at the base, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Time Management and Reporting: Ensure accurate time tracking for ‘man-hours’ worked for self and team during the shift period.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain Health & Safety standards in accordance with the company’s Safety Policy.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Accomplish other tasks as reasonably requested by management, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
  • Communication Skills: Enhance communication channels within the team to ensure clear and effective information flow.
  • Leadership Development: Encourage leadership training programs to develop supervisory skills further.
  • Feedback Mechanism: Facilitate feedback from colleagues, encouraging them to voice concerns and suggestions.

In order to be successful in the role of the Shift Supervisor you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Qualification & Education: A recognised apprenticeship within the aircraft industry or similar. EASA Part 66 Licence for types relevant to the station.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years hands-on experience of certifying Aircraft with an EASA part 66 licence and appropriate company authorisation.
  • Training & Knowledge: Technical experience in aviation and able to demonstrate knowledge of airworthiness regulation, MOE, MEL and its use.
  • Requirements for the role: Training Certificates, Updated CV (preferably in Word format). Sponsorship would only be considered for people already residing in the UK.
