The first Argento store opened in Belfast in 1997 and has grown to have more than 25 stores throughout the UK and Ireland and a thriving website that offers worldwide delivery. We are currently seeking to recruit a stock associate to join the busy Dispatch Team in Head Office.

Role: Stock Associate with engraving responsibilities
Location: Argento Head Office, Belfast BT4
Contract: Permanent, 32-hour contract, typical week will be 4 days, Tuesday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30. However, during peak trading times, additional hours, including evening and weekend shifts will be required. We therefore require candidates who will be flexible to work additional hours during peak trading times.
Hourly Rate: £12.95 per hour

Job Summary: Our site is not your typical warehouse; it does not include using forklifts or wearing safety boots. Product care and accuracy are key in these roles to ensure we provide amazing service to our customers. Our roles involve a lot of walking and climbing of steps, and good dexterity helps with manual handling and picking and packing orders. No previous experience is required; our friendly team will provide you with training, and you will also have a buddy to support you during your first few weeks.

What does the role involve? Argento are passionate about providing really great service to our Stores and customers, and this role will be primarily in the online dispatch role, picking and packing, replenishment, heat sealing, engraving customer orders, as well as other repetitive tasks. You may also assist in the warehouse dispatch role, goods in/out, dispatching, manual handling, stock control, communication to stores, transfers and use of in-house systems. We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate staff who can work to high standards with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. This role requires all staff to carry out engraving responsibilities daily, for which full training will be provided. This involves meticulous engraving of intricate designs or messages onto jewellery in line with customer requests, brand guidelines and company procedures.

What you'll do:

  • Online orders, including picking and packing, replenishment, manual handling, stock control and use of in-house systems, ensuring all tasks are prioritised and completed within expected timescales, following brand packaging guidelines, checking and spotting errors and reporting to the Supervisor.
  • Carry out detailed engraving on jewellery, in line with customer requirements, brand guidelines and company procedures, creating high-quality engravings on jewellery items using various tools and techniques.
  • Read and interpret engraving requests and design specifications to determine the appropriate engraving to be made, ensuring that all finished products meet quality and accuracy standards.
  • Efficiently and effectively receiving & storing goods inwards following Argento's internal processes and procedures.
  • Accepting and recording courier deliveries on in-house systems.
  • Manual handling, unpacking deliveries of stock and packaging and ensuring errors are reported directly to the line manager.
  • Keeping records on packaging and placing orders for packaging & stationery.
  • Storing all packaging onsite and ensuring accurate records are updated continuously on in-house systems.
  • Accurately and efficiently process all store packaging requests received from stores, ensuring all tasks are prioritised and completed within expected timescales.
  • Follow health and safety, fire safety and housekeeping guidelines and standards, ensuring all waste is disposed of safely and in line with company processes.
  • Recording and distributing store deliveries accurately and efficiently.
  • Effective use of delivery systems to ensure minimum overspend.
  • Ensure all tasks are prioritised and completed within expected timescales and ensuring quality and standards are maintained.
  • Flexible to work additional hours including the evening and weekend to meet peak trading times.
  • To build and maintain strong inter-team and inter-departmental relationships and to achieve a positive working environment and atmosphere.
  • Assist with accurately picking orders for stores and Online Customers, ensuring a high level of quality and accuracy.
  • Ensure all collections are picked up on time and daily and confirming any carrier closer dates.

Essential Skills and Experience Required:

  • Ability to comply with health and safety regulations and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Computer literate with experience of using Microsoft Office packages including Excel and email.
  • Time management ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively, using product numbers and codes.
  • Organisation and interpersonal skills to allow effective collaboration with colleagues and other departments on various engraving projects.
  • Proactive and capable of working under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team.
  • Well presented with a positive, pro-active and professional approach.
  • Flexibility both in duties within the team and in hours of work to ensure that business needs are met (additional hours during peak trading times).
  • Right To Work Documents (UK Citizens - Passport or Birth Certificate & NI / All other Citizens - Copy of Share code Document).

Desired Criteria:

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience of using RMIS and MPX or similar warehousing software packages.
  • Desirable Criteria: Computer literate with experience of using Microsoft Office packages including Excel and email.
  • Previous laser engraving experience (Gravograph).
  • Previous experience of using RMIS and MPX or similar warehousing software packages.
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and hand engraving techniques.
