Junior Maintenance & Shopfitting Assistant - Argento Contemporary Jewellery Location: East Belfast Head Office, with regular travel Contract: Permanent Working Pattern: 3 to 5 days per week Hours: Normally 8am to 4.30pm, with occasional earlier starts depending on operational and travel requirements Travel: Regular travel to stores across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, England and Scotland Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and working pattern Reporting to: Maintenance Manager An Exciting Opportunity to Build Your Career Argento Contemporary Jewellery is looking for an enthusiastic and practical Junior Maintenance & Shopfitting Assistant to support the maintenance, development and continued improvement of our retail store estate. This role would be particularly suited to someone newly qualified or at an early stage in their career who wants to develop their practical skills and gain hands-on experience within a growing retail environment. Working across our store network, you'll support everything from general maintenance and repairs to store upgrades, refits, relocations and new store projects, giving you exposure to a wide variety of work and the opportunity to develop your skills and responsibilities over time. With upcoming projects including further expansion in Scotland and the remodelling, upgrading and relocation of existing stores, this is an exciting time to join the business. The Role Working as part of the wider team, you'll help ensure our stores are maintained to a high standard while supporting planned improvement and shopfitting projects across the business. No two weeks will necessarily look the same. You may be completing maintenance or improvement work within an existing store, assisting with a refurbishment or supporting the preparation and fit-out of a new or relocated store. The role involves frequent travel, providing the opportunity to work at different locations across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, England and Scotland. What You'll Be Doing Support general maintenance and repairs across the Argento store estate. Assist with store refits, upgrades, relocations and new store fit-outs. Carry out practical tasks including basic joinery, fixtures and fittings, decorating and general building maintenance appropriate to your skills and training. Assist with the installation, repair and replacement of store fixtures, displays, furniture and equipment. Identify maintenance issues and support timely and practical solutions. Support planned and reactive maintenance requirements. Work collaboratively with store teams and relevant contractors while on site. Assist with the preparation and movement of materials, equipment and fixtures required for projects. Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to customers and store operations. Develop your practical skills and technical knowledge through hands-on experience and training. Travel to stores throughout the UK and Ireland as required. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is practical, reliable, enthusiastic and keen to learn. The role could provide an excellent opportunity for someone who has recently completed an apprenticeship or qualification in an appropriate trade and is looking for their first opportunity to develop broader maintenance and shopfitting experience. Ideally, you'll have: A recently completed or relevant qualification/apprenticeship in joinery, carpentry, construction, property maintenance or another relevant trade, or equivalent practical experience. Good practical and problem-solving skills. An interest in maintenance, shopfitting and retail development. High standards of workmanship and attention to detail. A willingness to learn new skills and take on increasing responsibility. Good communication and organisational skills. The ability to work effectively as part of a team. Flexibility around working hours when required for projects and travel. A willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the UK and Ireland. A full valid driving licence. Previous retail maintenance or shopfitting experience would be advantageous, but is not essential, as we're particularly interested in someone with the right practical ability, attitude and desire to develop.
