Main Purpose of Job
The Field Operator supports the Team leader ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Bio-diesel Refinery in the production of bio diesel. The Field Operator will work a 4 on, 6 off, 12 hour shift system which includes 2 days and 2 nights.
What you will do?
- Working as part of a shift team ensuring KPI targets are met.
- Ensuring HSEQ compliance by setting high standards in the team and ensuring issues or events raised are recorded and actioned.
- Working with the Team Leader/Senior Operator to troubleshoot operational issues and resolve them promptly, coordinating with other departments as needed.
- Maintaining accurate records of plant operations, including quality logs, detailed verbal handovers and incident reporting on SHE app.
- Ensuring preventative maintenance is carried out on plant equipment according to the predefined schedule and apply safe systems of work.
- Lab Analysis as required to ensure effective process control and measurement.

The Field Operator will work closely with other departments, such as maintenance, HSE, quality and tank operations to optimise plant performance while adhering to environmental, health, and safety standards.
What skills and behaviours will you need to be successful:
- Strong understanding of chemical process operations, control systems, and troubleshooting techniques. (essential)
- Familiarity with process equipment (pumps, compressors, reactors, heat exchangers, etc.) and their operation. (essential)
- Experience managing the Safe System of Work (essential)
- Understanding of SHE legislation (essential)
- Is collaborative and builds effective relationships.
- Able to work under pressure and make decisions.
- Good communication skills.
- Is pragmatic and solution driven.
- Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Other Experience and Qualifications required:
- GCSE’s minimum grade 4 in Maths and English.
- NVQ 2, or equivalent in process, electrical, mechanical or similar (desirable).
- Oil, gas or chemical industry operational work experience (desirable).
- Experience of working in an Industrial setting with good safety practices.
