About the role
You will be responsible for the administration of the Outward Reinsurance System (Global XL Pro) Rendered (a.k.a. Billed) ledger and specifically ensuring that the Debtor and Creditor positions are kept to a minimum thereon. The Outwards Reinsurance team is responsible for contract set up, the creation and posting of Reinsurance premiums and recoveries, credit control, cash allocation, reporting, broker communications and reconciliations and reporting related thereto. You will be working closely with, and reporting to, the Head of Outwards Reinsurance Operations.
Key responsibilities
- Timely issuance of collection and advice notes and statements to Brokers and Direct Reinsurers along with issuance of supporting information (e.g. Bordereaux, Claims loss reports etc).
- Building relationships with Brokers and arranging regular meetings with them to ensure timely collections and payments.
- Processing LORS and Direct settlements (necessitating Non-cash LORS item creation).
- Close liaison with the Senior Reinsurance Technicians, Finance and Operations and other Stakeholders.
- Reporting – including, but not limited to Credit Control related reports (e.g. "710", "Aged Debt" etc).
- Undertake any other related duties as may be reasonably required.

Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of reinsurance processes, including reinsurance recovery procedures from first advice to final settlement, credit control and the management of aged debt.
- Ideally some experience of Lloyd's reinsurance reporting mechanisms, Lloyd's minimum standards and Lloyd's processes.
- An understanding of Company, FCA, Lloyd's and other Regulators' compliance requirements.
- Experience of working with Global XL Pro is preferable.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proven accuracy and good attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Capable of developing and maintaining effective relationships at all levels.
- Competent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, intermediate competency in use of other office IT applications.
