About the role

  • Reporting to the Business Solutions Manager, the Senior Business Analyst is responsible for understanding and documenting the business and technical needs of Argenta Holdings Limited (AHL).
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders, the role ensures requirements are clearly translated into deliverables and effective business solutions.
  • Analyse business and technical requirements and produce clear functional, technical and design specification documents.
  • Assess current business processes and recommend improvements to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
  • The role works across a range of projects and may involve collaboration with external suppliers.

As a Senior Business Analyst, your key responsibilities will include

  • Relationship and change management – build and maintain strong relationships with business and IT stakeholders to understand their challenges, priorities and requirements.
  • Business analysis – investigate and analyse challenges, define business processes, and capture functional and non-functional requirements that support strategic and tactical goals.
  • Workshop facilitation – lead workshops to understand business needs, define requirements and shape agreed solutions.
  • Documentation and analysis – produce functional, technical and design specifications, including gap analysis, data analysis, data mapping and process modelling.
  • Third-party solutions – support the evaluation and selection of third-party software, applications and solutions.
  • Application strategy – work with IT to support application architecture design and the delivery of AHL’s application and software strategy in line with the company’s business plan and strategic goals.
  • Operational change – support the operations function in managing change identified through AHL’s business plan, London Market initiatives or legal requirements.
  • Process mapping and improvement – analyse and document current and future-state processes, identifying innovative solutions to address business needs.
  • Stakeholder insight – communicate analysis and recommendations clearly, helping stakeholders make informed decisions and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Delivery planning – develop implementation approaches for system, process, data and working practice changes, including training, UAT scripting and execution, communication, rollout and pilot requirements.
  • Benefits realisation – define expected benefits and change impacts, complete cost-benefit analysis and consultation activity, and ensure impact measures are included in delivery plans.
  • Professional conduct – maintain high standards of professionalism and ethical behaviour, adhering to internal and regulatory requirements in all activities.

About you

  • Strong commercial experience using a range of business analysis methods, tools and processes.
  • Ability to define business and technical requirements, as well as functional tests, in clear and engaging ways.
  • Significant experience working within the Lloyd’s and London Market environment, ideally within change delivery.
  • Strong project delivery experience across both long- and short-term projects.
  • Proven experience successfully implementing and delivering systems solutions as part of organisational change programmes.
  • Excellent track record of managing key stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Solid understanding of Lloyd’s insurance market initiatives, with familiarity with LIMOSS and Future at Lloyd’s preferred.
  • Working knowledge of solution architecture design and delivery, including interface capabilities such as APIs and gateway messaging.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance business processes.
  • Change management experience, with the ability to engage stakeholders and support adoption.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills.
  • Deadline-driven and focused on delivering results.
  • Ability to assess situations from different perspectives and choose the most effective approach.
  • Positive, solution-focused approach to problem solving.
  • BCS Business Analysis Diploma or IIBA Certified Business Analysis Professional certification preferred.
  • Agile, Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma, BPMN or data modelling qualifications preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, Visio and Project; Visual Basic experience would be an advantage.
  • Good experience undertaking analysis and structured data reconciliation using Microsoft Office tools and Power BI.
