About the role - This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract opportunity. The Operations Coordinator is part of the Data Input and Quality Team within Operations’ Centralised Services Team. The team will perform post-bind administrative tasks in support of the Underwriting Team. The team will input data in a timely, accurate manner, as well as check the accuracy of such input for a sub-set of their activities. To ensure that activities are performed in the most accurate, streamlined manner, team members will be aligned to Underwriting Divisions. The Operations Coordinator will be trained to perform tasks across the maximum number of classes of business to provide cover within the team; there will be a primary, division-based alignment.
Your key responsibilities will involve:
- Input and quality checking of risk entry.
- Processing of endorsements:
- Assessment with the appropriate filing of non-material endorsements.
- Assessment with the required system input for material endorsements.
- Quality checking that the correct assessment was made re non-material/material endorsements and the accuracy of the input of material endorsements.
- Processing of Credit Control queries.
- Processing of Underwriting Syndicate Messages (USMs).
Each team member will perform a blend of tasks as scheduled by the team manager to ensure maximum engagement and development. Undertake any other related duties as may be reasonably required.

Skills & Experience:
- Ability to work as part of a team with a high level of attention to detail and processing work accurately within a measured environment.
- To develop knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry and the nuances of the work (mainly regarding variations across classes of business).
- Flexible approach to support the team as a whole during times of high volumes that will challenge team resourcing, e.g. supporting divisional work outside of the primary alignment.
- To develop a strong capability in raising any appropriate questions to underwriters in the most informed, streamlined manner in the course of progressing pieces work.
- Ability to perform activities to strict Service Level Agreement (SLA) timeliness and accuracy targets overseen by the team’s manager.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform individual tasks to a consistent high standard.
- To develop and maintain an understanding of the core operational skills of capacity management, process management, process improvement.
- Proficiency in relevant Microsoft systems.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced and time pressured environment.
- Capable of developing and maintaining effective relationships at all levels.
