Main Responsibilities
- Understand the vulnerabilities and risk of each location, and bespoke our approach to effectively reduce risk.
- Provide a visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports and collaborate with the local authorities.
- Carry out site duties in line with company policies and procedures.
- Conduct internal and external site patrols including perimeter and fire doors check.
- Prevent any unauthorised access to/within perimeters and buildings.
- Liaise with the technical team daily to report any alarms/CCTV/gates issues on sites.
- Liaise with departmental heads of staff in the event of issues to property and/or assets.
- Respond to all incidents or emergencies onsite.
- Manage site gatehouse duties and keys, and incident report management.
- Ensure the safety of people on site by reporting any Health and Safety breaches found.
- Ensure that access/egress duties are actioned in line with company policies.
- Adhere to company training and processes in the pursuit of your duties.
- Provide excellent customer service skills, always remaining courteous and professional.
- Undertake refresher and developmental training as required by your duties.
Relevant Skills and Experience
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and bespoke systems (training for company systems will be provided).
- Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal.
- Must be customer service orientated, always demonstrating professionalism and compassion.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Team player but possess the ability to work on own initiative.
General
- Show a level of flexibility and be able to adapt to new requests outside of the core role on request.
- Ensure all customer requests are responded to in a timely manner.
Location: Consett
Hours: 60 hour week
Shift Pattern: 07:00 - 19:00 five days a week
Hourly Rate: £12.60

The Person
To be an effective Security Officer, you will need to be a confident communicator as you will be required to provide detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity. You will need to be welcoming and patient with customers, and able to handle conflict in a professional manner.
Required Experience and Qualification
- You must have a valid SIA licence to apply for this role.
- Previous experience of working in a Retail Security Role is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
