This role aims to support the client in delivering industry-leading services. As the forefront of the business, it is expected that you will provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders. You will be deployed to high-risk areas/locations to support our client where needed and take a proactive approach to modern guarding solutions.

Location: Dumfries and Galloway

Hourly Rate: £14.40

Hours: average 46 hrs

Shift Pattern: 6 on 2 off. Shifts vary between 1200 - 2000 and 1200 - 0000

Essential: Full UK Manual driving license is required; vehicle provided and based at a specific site. Phone & Tablet are also supplied with the role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Flexibility to work across multiple locations within reasonable distance using a company vehicle.
  • Patrolling assigned stores, prioritising activities based on intelligence.
  • Providing high visibility and a reassuring presence around client premises, engaging with colleagues and the public.
  • Liaising with management, local authorities, and police when applicable.
  • Maintaining a safe and secure environment for clients and their customers.
  • Managing vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid distress.
  • Conducting searches on colleagues and contractors as per policy.
  • Performing security checks on premises.
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders via all means, including radio.
  • Reporting incidents digitally, gathering intelligence, and using tablets/phones for daily planning.
  • Reporting and documenting incidents accurately.
  • Identifying trends of criminal activity and communicating risks to the Crime Desk.
  • Operating Body Worn Cameras in line with policies.

Person Requirements:

  • Desirable: SIA accreditation
  • Essential: Experience in security guarding, particularly in retail security.
  • Full UK Manual driving license.
  • Valid SIA license.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Smart appearance.
  • Ability to handle conflict professionally.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • At least 1 year of front-line security guarding experience.

  • Positive work ethic.
  • Good IT knowledge.
  • Confidence in high-pressure situations.
