We're now looking for aSecurity Control Room Operativeto join our team and become the eyes, ears, and first point of contact for site security.

The Role

Working in the control room, you'll monitor and manage surveillance cameras, ensuring the safety and security of the site at all times.

Shift Pattern & Pay

• Location:Stockton‑on‑Tees
• Shifts:50 hours - Monday to Friday 07:30 - 17:30
• Hours:50hours per week
• Pay:£17.67 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor live footage and recognise potential security threats
• Respond appropriately and promptly to incidents
• Follow established protocols and communicate effectively with security personnel on the ground
• Document all activities and incidents within the control room
• Operate the Security Alarm Monitoring Unit, responding to events and incidents promptly
• Enforce security protocols for all staff, contractors, and visitors
• Provide security advice and alerts when required
• Monitor and ensure the functionality of protective security measures safeguarding personnel, processes, and property
• Act as theprimary point of contactfor all security-related activity on the client site

As you grow into the role, you'll also take on:

• Conducting security investigations, reviewing and retrieving CCTV footage, and supporting project work
• Managing key allocation, administering access control privileges, and auditing security systems against policy
• Developing assignment instructions and internal process documentation
• Creating and approving low-level work orders and purchase orders
• Maintaining and reviewing live reporting systems and data
• Overseeing intercom traffic and addressing non-security maintenance and repair tasks for fire and life safety systems
• Supporting the integration of security systems with wider IoT devices
• Delegating tasks and providing clear direction to the guard force

Education Requirements

• Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
• Further education or qualifications in Security, Criminology, IT or a related field are desirable

Licensing Requirements

• A validSIA CCTV Public Space Surveillance (PSS)licence is mandatory for this role

What You'll Need

• A valid SIA Door Supervisor or Guarding licence — essential
• 5 years' UK work history
• Ability to pass additional DBS checks due to the nature of the role
• Willingness to undergo specialised training in control room operations, alarm management software, and security systems

• Previous experience within a security control room or CCTV monitoring environment
• Strong analytical and observational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Good understanding of incident reporting systems and security technology
• Proficient computer literacy across multiple software platforms
