About the Role As a Retail Security Officer, you will provide visible deterrence, respond to incidents, complete incident reports and collaborate with local authorities.
Key Responsibilities- Patrol the shop floor and deter criminal activity.
- Assess and identify vulnerabilities, and work proactively to minimise risk.
- Liaise with management and local authorities when applicable.
- Manage vulnerable persons with empathy to avoid causing distress.
- Complete colleague and contractor searches when required in line with customer company policy.
- Digitally report incidents and use tablets/phones for daily activity planning.
- Provide detailed and legible incident reporting to assist the client and local authorities.
Location & Hours Location: Walsall Tame Bridge, WS5 4AN Hours: 47 hours Shift pattern: Mon 1.30pm–10pm, Tue 1.30pm–10pm, Thu 1pm–10pm, Fri 1pm–10pm, Sat 1pm–10pm, Sun 10am–4pm
Compensation Hourly rate: £12.60
The Person You will need to be a confident communicator, capable of providing detailed verbal and written accounts of criminal activity. You will be welcoming, patient with customers and able to handle conflict in a professional manner.
Required Experience & Qualification- You must have a valid SIA licence to apply.
- Previous experience in a Retail Security role is an advantage but not essential, as full training will be given.
- Applicants must be able to provide a full 5‑year checkable work or back‑to‑school history.
