Quantity Surveyor. Project QS to work with the Commercial team. Experience in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Groundworks, RC or Sprayed concrete are all useful. Relevant experience and commercial understanding with an organised and enthusiastic attitude are more important than formal qualifications.
A project management or engineering background could also be relevant.
Car driver essential, based in head office, near to Tonbridge.
Quantity Surveyor. You will be working for a contractor who is carrying out sprayed concrete and concrete repair work. Project package values from £50k to over £10m. The work is nationwide, but you will be head office based, 5 days per week. Ideally you must have previous experience predominantly in the Civil engineering range of projects. Strong in oral and verbal communication with good commercial understanding and appreciation. Good IT skills are important, and a good technical engineering knowledge is an advantage.
The Quantity Surveyors role will involve working closely with the construction team and the clients to ensure that commercial elements are identified and correctly charged for.The ideal person will have enthusiasm in the construction industry and be able to communicate well at all levels. The contractor is very well respected in this niche market and has extremely good working relationships with Contractors and Clients on major projects. You should be enthusiastic with a genuine desire to help the company grow and expand. You must be capable of compiling and working with spreadsheets, accurately recording and charging for variations, identifying changes to the works originally contracted for and costing them out to an agreed schedule of rates.
