Overview Bristol HQ (Hybrid Working – 2 days on-site, 3 days remote). We're seeking a talented System Administrator with strong skills in Kubernetes, Helm, and Linux to join a growing technology team. This is a hands-on role where you'll take ownership of systems, work directly with customers, and ensure secure, reliable, and scalable solutions are delivered. You'll be part of a collaborative environment where you'll play a key role in both day-to-day operations and longer-term projects, working across infrastructure, automation, and containerised environments.
Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and support Linux systems across development and production environments.
- Manage and maintain Kubernetes clusters (deployment, scaling, monitoring, and troubleshooting).
- Use Helm charts to drive consistency and reliability in deployments.
- Work with Rancher for cluster management and configuration.
- Configure Ingress and networking for secure, reliable public access to services.
- Collaborate directly with customers and internal stakeholders, ensuring technical requirements are met and solutions are well-documented.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and share knowledge across the team.
- Support automation and CI/CD practices to improve efficiency.
Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience with Linux administration (5+ years).
- Proficiency with Helm charts for deployments.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (DHCP, subnetting, routing, firewalls).
- Good documentation and communication skills, with customer-facing experience.
- Comfortable troubleshooting and problem-solving in complex environments.
- Exposure to Rancher and/or Istio Service Mesh is highly desirable.
