Areti Group is partnering with a well-established organisation undergoing a significant period of business transformation and operational change.

As part of this journey, they are seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst to help shape and mature their Business Analysis capability while supporting the delivery of both operational and technology-focused change initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing change function, influence how projects and programmes are delivered, and play a key role in establishing best practice across a complex and evolving environment.

The Role

As Lead Business Analyst, you will play a key role in driving both business and technology change across a diverse portfolio of programmes and projects.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, operational teams, technology teams, project managers, and business leaders, you will be responsible for understanding business challenges, identifying opportunities for improvement, and translating operational requirements into successful technology and process-driven solutions.

A significant aspect of this role will involve establishing and embedding Business Analysis best practices, introducing governance and delivery frameworks, and helping to develop a high-performing BA capability as the function evolves.

The successful candidate will bring a strong blend of operational business analysis expertise and IT delivery experience, enabling them to act as the bridge between business functions and technical teams.

You will be confident operating within complex organisations, influencing at all levels, facilitating workshops, challenging constructively, and driving outcomes across multiple stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Analysis Leadership
  • Lead Business Analysis activities across multiple business and technology programmes.
  • Define and implement BA standards, methodologies, governance, and best practice frameworks.
  • Support the development and growth of the Business Analysis capability.
  • Drive consistent approaches to requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and process improvement.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues involved in business analysis activities.

Requirements & Solution Delivery

  • Facilitate discovery workshops and requirements gathering sessions with key stakeholders.
  • Capture, analyse, and document both business and functional requirements.
  • Create process maps, workflows, business cases, user stories, acceptance criteria, and solution documentation.
  • Ensure requirements remain traceable throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with project, technology, and delivery teams to support successful implementation.
  • Identify and recommend solutions that align operational objectives with technology capabilities.
  • Support the delivery of system, process, and organisational change initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Develop strong relationships across operational, business, and technology teams.
  • Act as the bridge between stakeholders and technical delivery functions.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and decision-making forums.
  • Build consensus and support stakeholders through periods of change.
  • Communicate effectively with senior leaders, project sponsors, and technology teams.
  • Governance & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and maintain Business Analysis governance and reporting standards.
  • Promote consistency in documentation, controls, and delivery approaches.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, operational efficiency, and technology adoption.
  • Support strategic transformation and business improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the ongoing maturity and development of project delivery capabilities.
  • Required Experience

Essential

  • Extensive Business Analysis experience gained within complex business environments.
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, or managing Business Analysts.
  • Strong experience delivering both operational business change and technology-focused projects.
  • Proven ability to work across business and IT functions, translating operational needs into practical solutions.
  • Strong track record of establishing or improving Business Analysis capabilities and frameworks.
  • Experience creating governance models, templates, methodologies, and delivery standards.
  • Excellent requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation skills.
  • Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder management experience.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience working within structured project delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of business change, technology delivery, transformation, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working with enterprise systems, business applications, and cross-functional technology teams.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation or business integration programmes.
  • Experience working within complex, multi-site organisations.
  • Exposure to PMO maturity, governance, or capability improvement initiatives.
  • Experience supporting organisational change and business improvement activities.
  • Experience delivering projects involving business systems, process automation, or enterprise technologies.

This role would suit an experienced Senior Business Analyst, or Lead Business Analyst with a strong blend of operational and IT Business Analysis experience, looking to build capability, drive best practice, and make a measurable impact within a business undergoing significant change and transformation.
