We are supporting a professional services organisation on a key Workday optimisation programme and are seeking an experienced
Workday Process Lead to join on a 6-month outside IR35 contract.
This role will focus on ensuring Workday processes effectively support a client-centric, project-based operating model , including utilisation, resource planning, and efficient HR operations.
You will lead process improvement initiatives and ensure Workday is aligned to the commercial and operational needs of a professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the review, design, and optimisation of Workday processes across HR and people-related workflows within a professional services context.
- Partner with
HR, Finance, Resource Management, and Operations teams to align Workday processes with a project-led, billable business model.
- Analyse current-state processes relating to resource allocation, utilisation, project staffing, and employee lifecycle , identifying inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
- Design future-state processes that support scalability, operational efficiency, and improved reporting.
- Ensure Workday processes enable accurate tracking of headcount, utilisation, capacity, and workforce planning .
- Facilitate workshops with senior stakeholders to define requirements and gain alignment on process improvements.
- Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and Workday functional/technical teams .
- Support process documentation, governance frameworks, and adoption of best practice .
- Contribute to
UAT, change management, training, and business readiness activities .
- Provide ongoing support for issue resolution and post-implementation optimisation .
- Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a
Workday Process Lead / Functional Lead / Senior Business Analyst within Workday environments.
- Strong understanding of how Workday supports professional services or project-based organisations .
- Experience aligning Workday processes to utilisation, resource planning, and project delivery models .
- Deep knowledge of
Workday HCM , with exposure to modules such as
- Core HCM
- Absence & Time Tracking
- Recruitment / Talent
- Compensation
- Experience in process mapping (As-Is / To-Be) and driving measurable process improvement.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience working with senior leaders in HR, Finance, and Operations .
- Ability to translate complex business needs into practical, scalable Workday-enabled solutions .
- Strong workshop facilitation, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience working within transformation or optimisation programmes .
