The predicted salary is between 55000 - 70000 £ per year.

£490 per day, Inside IR35. Initial 3-month contract. Remote with max once per month onsite in London, Leeds or Sheffield. SC eligible or active SC clearance required.

We are looking for 2 Senior Ruby Developers to support a key public sector digital programme. This role is suited to senior or lead-level developers with strong Ruby on Rails experience who can quickly integrate into an established government delivery environment. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the development of high-quality, secure and accessible digital services. You will need to be comfortable working collaboratively, following best practice engineering standards and contributing effectively from day one.

Key responsibilities:
  • You will design, develop and maintain Ruby on Rails applications, working closely with delivery, product, design and technical colleagues.
  • You will contribute to code reviews, mentoring and shared engineering practices, while ensuring services are built in line with government service standards, security requirements and accessibility expectations.
  • You will also be expected to work in a test-driven environment, using TDD and modern software engineering practices to deliver robust, maintainable services.
Essential skills and experience:
  • Senior or lead-level development experience
  • Strong Ruby on Rails expertise
  • TDD experience
  • Previous public sector or government experience
  • GDS experience or strong understanding of government service standards
  • Good understanding of security and accessibility requirements
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary agile teams
  • Strong communication skills
  • Collaborative approach and ability to integrate into established teams
  • Experience supporting best practices such as code reviews and mentoring
  • Ability to interview and start at short notice

Contract details: ~£490 per day, ~Inside IR35, ~Initial 3-month contract, ~Remote working with max once per month onsite, ~Onsite location may alternate between London, Leeds or Sheffield, ~SC eligible or active SC clearance required, ~ASAP start.
