The predicted salary is between 90000 - 100000 £ per year.

The Role: This role sits within and complements the IT Infrastructure team, with a strong focus on cloud implementation and operational excellence. The position is responsible for providing engineering design, analysis, and support across cloud-deployed systems within the broader Microsoft cloud ecosystem. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to take a technical lead role in the delivery and implementation of next-generation cloud solutions, supporting a range of internal and external customers as part of the organisation’s ongoing cloud transformation journey.
Key Experience Required – Essential to the Role:
- Experience helping deliver cloud transformation projects in complex environments, working closely with both internal teams and external partners to get things done.
- Good understanding of Microsoft cloud best practices, including Azure governance, architecture, and how cloud environments are designed and run at scale.
- Hands-on exposure to Azure networking and platform services such as Azure Firewall, Azure Container Apps, and Azure API Management, used to support secure and scalable cloud environments.
- Practical experience designing and building enterprise-grade Azure landing zones as the foundation for wider cloud adoption and transformation.
- Strong experience with Microsoft Entra ID and modern identity solutions, supporting single sign-on, enterprise applications, and federation-based authentication across hybrid environments.
- Solid understanding of cloud service models, including SaaS and PaaS, and how they are applied within modern Azure environments.
- Self-starter who’s comfortable taking ownership and working independently in fast-moving environments.
- Strong people skills, with a collaborative and easy-going approach when working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable managing your own workload and prioritising tasks in a way that keeps things moving and deadlines on track.
Secondary Requirements – Nice to Have:
- Experience operating across hybrid environments spanning on-premise infrastructure and public cloud platforms, supporting end-to-end cloud integration and delivery.
- Exposure to delivering complex cloud migration programmes involving multiple systems, applications, and stakeholders.
- Understanding of cloud governance and control frameworks, including Azure Policy, Management Groups, Defender for Cloud, and cost management reporting.
- Experience working within regulated environments, including audit, risk, and compliance-driven industries, ideally financial services.
- Hands-on experience across hybrid cloud infrastructure deployments, supporting both legacy and modern cloud-native environments.
- Familiarity with serverless cloud concepts and approaches used to build scalable, event-driven solutions in Azure.
Desirable Requirements:
- Some exposure to Azure services like Databricks, Front Door, and Function Apps, used across modern cloud environments.
- Experience working with Microsoft cloud data tools and integrations, including Power Platform and Power BI via cloud data gateways.
- Basic understanding of modern application design concepts such as event-driven and RESTful architectures, along with key security principles like OAuth2 and JWT.
