Areti is excited to be supporting a leading partner in the government and defence sector, seeking a Senior Product Manager with extensive Government Digital Services (GDS) experience to join their team in Leeds. This is a high-impact role delivering digital products that transform public sector services.
The Role: You will lead the definition, development, and delivery of digital products within government environments, ensuring alignment with user needs, policy objectives, and business outcomes. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, delivery teams, and policy experts to shape product strategy, prioritise features, and ensure successful delivery and adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in line with GDS standards.
- Gather and prioritise user and stakeholder requirements to deliver maximum value.
- Define clear product objectives, success metrics, and KPIs.
- Collaborate with design, delivery, and technical teams to ensure solutions meet user needs and GDS compliance.
- Manage product backlogs, balancing business, user, and technical priorities.
- Lead product discovery, user research, and iterative testing to inform decisions.
- Monitor product performance, analyse outcomes, and iterate to improve effectiveness.
- Engage with senior stakeholders across government programmes to ensure alignment and visibility.
Experience Required:
- Active SC or DV Clearance.
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, ideally at a senior level, within government digital or public sector environments.
- Strong track record of delivering end-to-end digital products, from discovery through delivery and iteration.
- Deep understanding of GDS principles, user-centred design, and agile product delivery.
- Experience managing stakeholders across senior and cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent communication, prioritisation, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to define and track product KPIs and demonstrate impact on government objectives.
